  • The Memorial Garden of Hilltop Lutheran Church of the Ascension is the resting place of members who have gone before us with the sign of faith and now await the resurrection of the just.

Lo! I tell you a mystery.  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed...then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."  "O death, where is your victory" O death, where is your sting?"

The sting death is si, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

    First Corinthians 15:51-57

The Memorial Garden was dedicated on Ascension Day, 2001.

Members of the congregation may commend the ashes of their loved ones to the loving care of God in the Memorial Garden.

Families should contact the pastor or church office to make arrangements for a committal in the Memorial Garden.

Records will be kept of those whose last resting place is the Memorial Garden.  Brass plaques with the name, birth date and death date may be placed on the back side of the sculpture.  Information about brass plaques is available from the church office.

The Memorial Garden is a place of peace and tranquility, meditation and remembrance, to celebrate God's abounding love for all.  It is located beyond the outdoor chapel in a shaded glade.
